CARING FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE

Looking after your real Christmas tree properly means it will look its best for the Christmas season:

Take the tree out of its netting when you get home to prevent mould & fungus growing in the damp branches.

Cut off the bottom of the trunk (at least an inch). Your tree will have sealed its original cut with sap so won’t be able to suck up the water it needs.

Stand it in a Christmas tree stand or pot, avoid putting it in sand or soil as this can reduce the amount of water it can uptake.

Locate your tree away from any heat source such as radiators or fires. Heat will dry out the tree and it will lose its needles faster.

Water your tree every day to keep it looking plump and full. A dehydrated tree will start to droop and wilt very quickly, so water is the essential ingredient in looking after your real Christmas tree.
